In a bizarre incident, a mentally challenged person caused mayhem at the State capital’s Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) on Thursday.
According to the police, a mentally challenged person Sandip Oraon, aged 25 - 26 years, resident of Namkom, had entered into the cabin, of Skin and Venereal Disease Specialist, RIMS, Dr. Dhirendra Kumar Mishra, and tried to kill himself during midnight of Wednesday-Thursday.
Informing the whole issue the City SP, Sujata Kumari Venapani said, “Sandip’s father was admitted at the hospital. He came there to see his father. He entered into the cabin through kitchen and tried to kill himself by making a noose, which he had hanged with fan of the cabin.
When he didn’t success to do it then he tried to kill himself with broken glass of windows of the cabin. With the broken glass piece he cut his part of his body at various spots and written on wall by his blood, which was pouring from his wounds.”
Vinapani further said, “When the cabin was opened all the furniture of the cabin such as almiraah, table, chair was not at their place. A noose of clothe was hanging from the fans and bloodstain at several places. Some sensitive words were also written on the walls of the cabin.”
The City SP also informed that when the police team tried to check CCTV footage then it found that the boy entered into the cabin after that the team started to find out the boy. After some investigations police reached the boy and arrested him, she added.
Meanwhile, after the preliminary information, police and RIMS administration remained a harried lot as the mystery was not unfolding till Thursday afternoon. There was blood, noose for committing suicide but no body was there. Sleuth sof CID and Forensic squad came to incident site and took samples and evidences.
