Min inaugurates Uttarakhand Day in Trade Fair

The Uttarakhand Minister of State for Cooperatives, Higher Education and Protocol (independent charge) Dhan Singh Rawat participated as chief guest at ‘Uttarakhand Day’ during the ongoing 38th International Trade Fair being organised at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi on Monday.  Artistes from Uttarakhand presented various cultural programmes at Vatika Lane on the occasion. Visitors from different states had a chance to evaluate the special cultural aspects of Uttarakhand through these cultural renderings.

 Speaking on the occasion Rawat congratulated the people of Uttarakhand and said that the state which has completed 18 years of its existence has achieved development in various spheres.

He said that the state has done excellent work in education, health, tourism and horticulture.

The minister said that there is great potential for investments in the fields of horticulture and tourism in the state. To boost tourism, 13 new destinations in 13 districts are being developed and work on all weather road in going on at a fast pace.

 The state government is providing uninterrupted power supply for 24 hours a day and each village is connected by road. He requested migrant residents of Uttarakhand to visit their villages 2-3 times a year. Rawat said that the state government has adopted zero tolerance policy on corruption.

While expressing gratitude to Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, he said that the state successfully organised investors summit-2018, in which MoUs amounting to more than Rs 1,20,000 crore were signed which will results in varied developments including employment opportunities for lakhs of youth.According to officials, the theme of this year’s trade fair is "Rural Industry in India". Based on the theme, presentations about the development of Uttarakhand along with information about the policies and programmes of the state government, state's handloom and handicrafts, the products of agricultural and horticultural sectors of the state have been displayed.

Department of Industries, Tourism, Horticulture and Food Processing, Handloom and Handicraft Development Council have set up their stalls in which the schemes and achievements of these departments are being presented. The highlight of the tourism department's stall is replica of Kedarnath temple. Information about Uttarakhand Winter Char Dham Yatra, International Yoga Festival, PATA Adventure Mart and Adventure Tourism is also being provided at the stalls of the Tourism Department.
