MiO fetches Rs 4.20L-cr investment offers

A total of Rs 4,19, 574 crore worth of investment proposals have so far been received through the ongoing Make in Odisha (MiO) Conclave here.

The proposals, when executed, would generate an additional employments for 5,91,000 persons, said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the valedictory session of conclave on Tuesday evening. The investment intends were received in 15 diversified sectors, said the CM.

Patnaik thanked all participating delegates, including industry captains and Japan Ambassador. Japan is the partner country of the conclave.

“The grounding of these projects will be rolled up until the 3rd Make in Odisha to be held from November 30 to December 4, 2020,” said the Chief Minister.

He said his Government will continue to take efforts to make Odisha an iconic brand for a manufacturing hub of the east. Briefing mediapersons, Industries Secretary Sanjeev Chopra said a total of 183 proposals received out of which 53 proposals with intent of investment of Rs 2,36,435 crore.

The Halladay Petrochemicals’ intent of investment is the largest at Rs 70,000 crore with employment generation of 31,000. The intents includes four FDI proposals from Japan, Taiwan, Dutch and Thailand.

The Haldia Petrochemicals, Jindal Steel and Power, MCL, a Taiwanese Company and SAIL were registered as top investment intenders. 

The conclave was attended by 21 States and 19 foreign countries.

In total, 5,075 delegates participated in 19 sessions. A total of 692 B2B and G2B discussions were held. A total of 31,806 footfalls were received.
