House of a Project Officer working with Water Management Institute, at Deepak Society under Chunabhatti police station area, was targeted by miscreants and valuables worth lakhs of rupees were burgled on Sunday.
According to the police, the victim, Sarika Singh had gone to Vidisha on the occasion of festival and when she returned valuables were found burgled.
A complaint was lodged by the victim with the Chunabhatti police and in her complaint she stated that she along with her family had gone to Vidisha on Friday and returned on Sunday the doors of the house was found open and valuables were burgled.
Gold and silver jewelry and other valuables worth over Rs 1 lakh were found burgled. The victim was not able to provide details of the cash burgled. The police have registered a case under sections 457 and 380 of the IPC and have started further investigation. The security guards of the society and domestic help would be questioned in the investigation.
Police said footages of installed CCTV cameras would be searched during the further investigation to establish the identity of the miscreants. The neighbors have expressed ignorance over the burglary.
Meanwhile, cameras installed over trees to track bear were stolen from forest in Ratibad area; police have started further investigation. A complaint was lodged by forest department employee Mansaram after he found that two cameras were missing. He stated that two cameras installed worth Rs 40000 were stolen in the afternoon. The police have registered a case of theft against unidentified miscreants.
