House of a BHEL employee was targeted by miscreants and valuables worth Rs 1 lakh were burgled from A- sector Barkheda under Govindpura police station area in the evening on Wednesday.
Police said that the victim Mahesh Thakkar was at work while his wife and daughter have gone to market and when they returned valuables were found burgled.
A complaint was lodged with the police by the victim stating that he left the house for work while his wife and daughter have gone for shopping at nearby market in the evening around 6 and when they returned after one hour locks were broken and valuables were found burgled. The wife of the victim informed victim and later a complaint was lodged with police.
On entering the house they found that the gold and silver jewelry, documents, SIM cards and Rs 20000 were burgled. The total loss in the burglary was around Rs 1 lakh.
The police said that as part of the investigation, CCTV cameras of the locality and nearby areas will be checked for establishing the identity of the miscreants. The neighbors have expressed ignorance over the burglary.
During the investigation police found that within one hour miscreants broke the lock and escaped with the valuables which suggest that the miscreants were aware of the whereabouts of the victim and committed the burglary within a short period of time.
Police said that domestic help and security guards would be questioned in the further investigation. Police have registered a case of burglary against unidentified miscreants and started further investigation.
