Motorbike, valuables worth Rs 1 Lakh burgled

Valuables worth Rs 1 lakh and a motorbike were burgled from Mayur Colony under Sukhisewania police station area on Thursday.

According to the police, the victim Naresh Shrivastava along with his family had gone to visit his relative on October 8 and when they returned on Thursday they found that the valuables were missing.

A complaint was made by the victim with the Sukhisewania police and in the complaint the victim had claimed that on his return he found that the locks were broken and on entering the house was found ransacked. Gold jewelry and other valuables worth Rs 1 lakh and motorbike parked inside the house were found missing claimed the victim.

In the burglary the almirah which was having the valuables was targeted and the other valuables were not disturbed. The police have registered a case under sections 457 and 380 of the IPC and have started further investigation.

Meanwhile, Shahpura police arrested eight persons on the charge of gambling and recovered Rs 9000 cash, playing cards from their possession in Shaitan Singh Square on Thursday.

Acting on a tip off, eight gamblers were caught gambling by Shahpura police late in the night on Thursday near a Durga pandal at Shaitan Singh Square.

Police received information that gamblers are gambling near Durga pandal and based on the information the place was raided where 8 persons were found gambling.

Police said that the in the raid the gamblers were found gambling and in the raid around Rs 9000 cash was recovered from their possession.

The details of the 8 gamblers nabbed would be investigated in the further investigation.
