A soothing evening under the moon with music and poetry celebrated the Dusherra eve at Alliance Francaise de Bhopal on Thursday. A joint effort by Club Literati and Alliance Francais, the evening saw Sulabha Dixit mesmerizing the literature lovers of Bhopal with her poems while her daughter Diksha Dixit mesmerized the audience with her melodious voice.
The event was held at Preeti Bawa's art exhibition "and she rose". A poem called "she rose", inspired by the artwork was also shared at the event.
The evening commenced with a warm welcome to the guests. Diksha then presented her song ‘minor mistake’. This was followed by the recital of a poem Why by Sulabha. Describing the poem she said, “This poem is written for a beloved friend who succumbed to a tragedy. I am normally a positive person and it is reflected in my writings. But this posed a lot of questions in my mind so this was written.”
This was followed by Diksha’s song stormy weather and later saw Sulabha reciting Dhuli Dhuli si Zindagi. The evening concluded with the mother-daughter duo reciting a Shlokam Ya Devi Sarva Bhuteshu, describing the nine forms of Goddess Durga. Each Sholkam was accompanied by a quatrain in English.
“This indeed was a divine experience. I think we should organize such events on a regular basis,” Seema Raizada President Club Literati said.
