Naman-Shaheedon Ke Sapno Ko took out a bike rally from Sakchi to pay  tribute Adivasi leader Birsa Munda on his birth anniversary on Thursday.

Over 1000 bikers took part in it. The rally went to Birsanagar Sunday Market and pad floral tribute at the statue of the great leader.

Founder Amarpreet Singh Kale said that Birsa Munda was a revolutionary tribal leader who died fighting for the cause of the people. Kale remembered the leader and said that the country cannot forget Munda’s contribution in freedom struggle. 

The rally was flagged off by state's food and civil supplies minister Saryu Roy from near the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee office in Sakchi. Led by the founder of the outfit, Amarpreet Singh Kale, the bi ke rally toured Bhalubasa, Agrico, Baridih and reached Birsanagar to offer tribute to the statue of Birsa Munda.

In the morning, the East Singhbhum district education department had also organised a rally with more than 2500 students from 20 government and affiliated schools.

The rally started from Aambagan ground and culminated at the same place via the Jubilee Park gate. Some of the participating schools were Rajasthan Vidya Mandir, Ram Krishna Mission School; Jamshedpur High School; Gurunanak Higher Secondary School and others.

Raju Murmu of Birsa Munda Society said the Scheduled Tribe and other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Rights) Act of 2006 had its genesis in the struggle of Birsa Munda.He was the source of inspiration for the tribal people to continue their agitation for ‘self-rule’ and ‘schedule area’ status across the country, except Jammu and Kashmir, Raju said. Ramdev Manjhi described Birsa Munda as a symbol of adivasis' fight for justice.

He said that upper castes always dominated the adivasis and exploited them. If the Government delayed the implementation of the Act, they would have to resort to legal remedies, he added.
