Three minor siblings of Bonei block of Sundargarh district, who are orphans and living in helpless condition, have not got any assistance from the Government.
According to sources, Jadumani Kishan and wife Gura Kishan were residing with their three children Santosh (17), Jagannath (14) and Priyambada (9) at Banjikusum village in Badgogua panchayat under Bonei block. Jadumani was working as a daily wager.
He suffered from TB and got bed ridden for a long time. Gura also worked as daily wager and whatever amount she was earning, she was running her family and meeting treatment expenses of her husband.
Gura suddenly died on August 28. Just a day after, Jadumani died.
The three children became orphans after the death of their parents.
The situation was so bad that elder son Santosh started working in a shop to feed his younger brother and sister. Santosh’s younger brother Jagganath studies in 9th Class and sister Priyambada studies in 5th Class in village school.
There is no toilet or electricity in their house. The final rites of their parents were completed with the help of their relatives and villagers. The financial assistance under Harischandra scheme, which should have been provided to these three children just after the death of their parents, has not yet been provided to them. The three siblings are now struggling to survive but have not yet got a helping hand.
Meanwhile, when asked, Badgogua Panchayat PEO J Mishra assured of assistance to the siblings.
