Noida City Centre-Noida electronic City trial run begins

After Pink Line, the people of the Delhi — national Capital Region (NCR) will get a New year gift by mid of January as the Delhi and Noida Metro Rail Corporation has began the trial runs on the 6.8 kilometre long Noida City Centre-Noida electronic City from Friday onwards. This corridor will be the extension of the presently operational Dwarka Sector 21 - Noida City Centre (Line 3) also called as Blue Line.

Also, this Line will be Delhi metro’s third line in Noida after Noida Sector 15 - Noida City Centre and Botanical Garden - Kalindi Kunj. Vaishali. The Noida - Greater Noida Line of Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) will also thrown open the public soon in the coming months.

Residents and employees especially who daily up and down daily to and fro Delhi-Noida will be benefitted largely as opening of this corridor will reduce the travel time from Delhi to Noida Sector 62, besides facilitating ease of commute and improving connectivity. Noida’s Sector 62 on one of the commercial area with a number of commercial establishments and offices.

Further, the extension of the Blue Line which will run till the Greater Noida will be completed elevated with consisting six stations: Noida Sector 34, Sector 52, Sector 61, Sector 59, Sector 62 and Noida Electronic City.

The officials at Delhi metro said that these trials are just preliminary and the Signalling trials will begin soon. “During the trial runs, the interaction of the Metro train with physical infringements (civil structure) will be checked to ensure that there is no physical blockage during the movement of the train on the track. The entire signaling system will also undergo rigorous testing,” said Anuj Dayal, Executive Director (Corporate Communication), DMRC.

As per the officials, during these trials, the response of the train at different speeds, braking of the train and the interconnection with the Operations Control Centre (OCC) will also be monitored. The behavior of the track system and the Over Head Electrification (OHE) will be checked repeatedly during all the trials.

Currently, the 49.93 kms long Blue Line (Line 3) operates between Dwarka Sector 21 to Noida City Centre. After opening of this 6.8 kms long section, the entire Blue Line (Line 3) will become 56.73 kms in length which will be the second longest corridor of Delhi Metro after the Majlis Park — Shiv Vihar corridor (Pink Line) which is 59 kms long.
