Chhattisgarh will witness two-phased polling for which the notification for the first phase will be issued on Tuesday for 18 State Assembly constituencies of eight districts as part of Assembly Election 2018, officials informed.
With issuance of notification, the nomination filing process would also commence.
State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Subrat Sahoo said that in first phase, seven districts of Bastar revenue division having 12 Assembly constituencies and six Assembly constituencies of Rajnandgaon district would go for poll for which notification is to be issued.
He added all the preparation for first phase of polling has been done. 31.79 lakh voters would cast their votes in the 18 Assembly constituencies. To ensure complete polling, 4,336 polling centres have been made.
The first phase has 16,21,839 women electors, 15,57,592 men and 89 third gender voters.
The CEO said with notification, in all 18 Assembly constituencies the candidates can file their nomination papers. Last date for submission of nomination papers is October 23. The scrutiny of nomination papers is scheduled on October 24. Candidates can withdraw their names by October 26 till 3.00 pm. The polling will be held on November 12. The counting would be held on December 11.
The Assembly seats where the election notification will be issued are in Bastar division, Sukma district for Sukma AC, Bijapur district for Bijapur, Dantewada district for Dantewada, Bastar district for Chitrakote, Bastar and Jagdalpur, Narayanpur district for Narayanpur, Kondagaon district for Keshkal and Kondagaon, Kanker district for Antagarh, Bhanupratappur and Kanker, Rajnandgaon district for Khairagarh, Dongargarh, Rajnandgaon, Dongargaon, Khujji and Mohala-Manpur Assembly constituencies.
