A building material supplier was shot dead in broad daylight in Doiwala area on Tuesday. In the shootout, Muzaffarnagar resident, Aadesh Baliyan, was shot dead by three motorcycle-borne miscreants in Balawala area when he went there to unload a truck of sand in a vacant residential plot.
The local residents of the area informed the police. The victim was rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead. The Raipur police station in-charge, Hemendra Negi said that personal animosity and business- related rivalry might have prompted the fatal attack on Baliyan.
However, the daring shootout at a place within the Assembly constituency of the Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat on the first day of the Monsoon session of the State Assembly has jolted the administration of the State. Seemingly rattled by the incident, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dehradun Nivedita Kukreti immediately sent a team headed by SP city Pradep Rai to the spot. The police teams are going through the video footages recorded in the CCTV cameras installed in the area and have launched a massive manhunt to nab the culprits, SSP informed.
