Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said that the Global Agriculture Summit scheduled to be organized on November 29 and 30 in Ranchi will be based on ‘Organic Farming’ theme. The CM, while holding a high-level meeting on the summit and preparations for State Foundation Day on November 15 here on Wednesday asked officials to make best arrangements for the summit.
He, on the occasion, instructed officials to invite best performing farmers in the field of organic farming. “They will share their experiences with others. Also, invite the farmers and agriculture ministers of those states that are doing well in cultivation. Invite agriculture experts and organize road shows in all the districts,” said the CM instructing officials.
Das said that the goal of the government is to make Jharkhand hub of agricultural activities in the eastern India. He said that a road show will be organized in Delhi on October 9 to attract investors in the field of agriculture. Invitations for the Road show have been given to Ambassadors of different countries with the help of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he added.
The CM also asked the officials to make elaborate arrangements for the Foundation Day celebrations. He asked them to be prepared from November 1 itself and organize events every day for 15 days focusing on agriculture as theme. He also asked them to ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach the people without any hiccups.
Talking about 150th birth anniversary of Mahtma Gandhi he instructed to take appointment from Governor at the earliest and convene a meeting of the State level steering committee, which will comprise representatives of all political parties, people following Gandhian thoughts and others. During the meeting a detailed plan will be prepared for the whole year. He also asked the officials to gather information on Mahtma Gandhi’s visit to Jharkhand and prepare programme in accordance with it.
Chief Secretary Sudhir Tripathy, Development Commissioner DK Tiwari, Additional Chief Secretary Sukhdeo Singh, Principal Secretary of Home Department SKG Rahate and other senior officials were present in the meeting.
