Para teachers hold rally in support of strike

Saturday, 17 November 2018 | PNS | Jamshedpur

Over 2,000 para-teachers of East Singhbhum district on Friday came in support of the Statewide indefinite strike condemning Thursday's incident of lathicharge during the Statehood Day function at Morhabadi in Ranchi.

The agitating para teachers under the banner of Para-teachers Sanghursh Morcha, East Singhbhum took out a rally from Aambagan ground in Sakchi. The rally culminated near the district collectorate where the agitating para-teachers raised anti-slogans against the Chief Minister condemning yesterday's incident.

President of the morcha, Sumit Kumar Tiwary said they have gathered to register their protest. Though they have been fighting for their long standing demand of regularisation of services and were expecting some announcements in their favour by the chief minister during the Statehood Day function but nothing has been done so far. A delegation of para- teachers led by Tiwary met the East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Amit Kumar and handed over the latter a memorandum about their decision of going for an indefinite strike from today.More than 3000 students across 200 new primary schools (that runs in a rented shelter) are entirely based on para teachers in East Singhbhum. The para teachers have been continuously agitating based on two points but without any result.
