Pradesh Congress Committee chief Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday stormed into bastion of former chief minister and Janta Congress Chhattisgarh supremo Ajit Jogi in his Marwahi seat and advised voters to dump him and elect Congress candidate from the seat.
“Time has come to dump Jogi and elect a new face in this election,’’ Baghel told voters in election campaign in Marwahi which goes to polls on November 20.
Baghel also asked voters to ignore BJP in polls as the party misruled the state during its 15-year of governance. “Only hollow promises were made by the BJP government in these years and it never fulfilled any of its promises”, he alleged.
Konta assembly seat legislator and Deputy Leader of Opposition, Kawasi Lakhma, who also accompanied Baghel in the poll campaign in Marwahi, termed Jogi a ‘liar’.
“Jogi has twice campaigned in my constituency Konta in support of Communist Party of India (CPI) candidate but it will have no effect on my electoral fortune’’ remarked Lakhma, who is seeking re-election from the seat which went to polls on November 12.
