The PCC Disciplinary Committee headed by former Chief Minister Hemananda Biswal on Wednesday sent a recommendation to the All India Congress Committee (AICC) to take disciplinary action against senior leader Srikant Jena.
As Jena is a former Union Minister and a primary member of the AICC, the OPCC has left the task for its central decision-making body.
“The all media reports about the indiscipline behaviour of Srikant Jena were discussed in the meeting. As he (Srikant Jena) is a former Union Minister and member of the AICC, the final decision will be taken by AICC,” Biswal told reporters here. In reply, Jena said he will keep his version with the AICC. “I am not involved any mining scam or I have not been pulled up by the court for transacting bribe,” he added. Jena had on Sunday resigned from all committees of the PCC. A day before, he had been removed as chairman of the party’s poll manifesto committee and was replaced by senior party leader Ganeswar Behera.
