Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated over 379 newly-constructed projects worth Rs 4,048 crore in Allahabad (now Prayagraj) on Sunday. The Prime Minister first reached the Sangam area and dedicated a state-of-the-art Integrated Command and Control Centre for Kumbh Mela.
The PM also sought details about the functioning of the control centre from Divisional Commissioner Ashish Goel. The centre will monitor several facilities being provided to people, including electricity, water and sewage system among others.
After spending 15-20 minutes there, the Prime Minister reached Triveni bandh where he met the representatives of all the 13 akharas.
The Prime Minister, who was accompanied by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Governor Ram Naik, Stamp and Civil Aviation Minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’ and others, performed puja amidst chanting of vedic mantras.
Modi was in the city to dedicate projects for Kumbh Mela scheduled to be held in January next year. Among the projects, seven flyovers, including a railway overbridge and underpass were the major ones.
Apart from that, the Prime Minister also inaugurated the newly-constructed Ganga Pollution Control Unit worth Rs 1,671.60 crore. Later, he went to Sant Nirankari Satsang in Jhunsi and addressed a gathering. Thereafter, Modi inaugurated the newly constructed civil terminal of the airport at Bamrauli and announced that it would be known as Madan Mohan Malviya Airport.
The terminal was decked up two days prior to the Prime Minister’s visit.
Earlier, the Prime Minister’s helicopter landed at Delhi Public School after which he reached Triveni bandh at Sangam.
