Police have registered a case against 290 named para teachers and 1500 unnamed ones in connection with alleged stone pelting and other offences committed by them during the statehood day celebrations at Morhabadi ground.
Officer-in-charge of Lalpur police station Ramod Singh said the case has been lodged under section 144, 342, 323, 307 353, 337 and 338 of the Indian Penal Code.
“We are sending 280 persons to jail in this connection. Some of the named accused are absconding at present,” the OC said. It may be stated here all 280 para teachers to be sent to jail were detained and kept in a camp jail on Thursday.
