Police solve robbery mystery

Ratibad police have solved a robbery case in which two miscreants robbed a person of  digital camera worth Rs  20,000 on November 16 at Kerwa Dam. The one of the accused is booked by MP Nagar police while the other remains absconding.

According to the Ratibad police, one of the miscreants was found nabbed by MP Nagar police  booked for possession of arms illegally.

SHO of Ratibad police Sunil Bhadoria said that acting on a tip off regarding miscreant involved in robbery the victim was shown photographs of an accused booked by MP Nagar police and victim recognized the accused. The victim told that accused along with one of his accomplice robbed his camera in the morning on November 16.

The accused was identified as Shareef alias Baccha Khan (28) who has been booked for around two dozen cases in the past by different police stations. He confessed robbery with his aide Saffu alias Safeeq (25) of Bhadbhada area, search for Saffu has been started, he added.

During the investigation it was found that victim Pranjal Sahu and Piyush Gupta who have gone to Kerwa Dam for photography were robbed of their digital camera by two youths who were on white scooter. The victim initially thought that the two miscreants might have thrown their camera but failed to find it and later approached the police. A complaint was lodged with the police and based on the complaint a case under section 392 of the IPC was registered.  Police have started search for the absconding accused. In the further investigation more crimes would be revealed.
