Policeman nabbed with ‘dummy EVM’

Wednesday, 21 November 2018 | Staff Reporter | Baikuntpur

A Policeman on duty in the premises of a polling booth was caught with a ‘dummy EVM’ at Badekula coming under Baikuntpur Assembly constituency, having the election symbol of Bharatiya Janata Party.

An appeal to cast vote in favour of BJP candidate Bhaiyalal Rajwade was written on the EVM.

The suspicion rose when the policeman was reaching out to the electors in queue and was showing the dummy EVM to them. It later came to notice of the local Congress workers. They then found that he was having the dummy EVM with BJP’s election symbol.

The Congress workers then registered complaint with local election office.
