Politics begins on death of para teacher

The death of agitating para teacher Kanchan Kumar Das in Dumka on Sunday has futher poured fuel in the agitation of warring para teachers as all the main opposition parties have loudly raised their voice against the State government.

Das died while staging a sit-in near the Women and Child Development, Social Welfare, Minister, Louis Marandi’s residence in Dumka on Sunday and in another case a female para teacher died in Ramgarh some days earlier.  All the main political parties have raised their voice against the State government.

Speaking on the issue Water Resource Minister Jharkhand, Chandraprakash Chaudhary said the State government should take initiative on the issue of para teachers’. The Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) MLA, Pradeep Yadav and the Congress Party MLA Badal Patralekh visited the residence of Late Para teacher Kanchan Kumar Das in Dumka to express grief to aggrieved family. Yadav said, “The para teachers’ are agitating in democratic way and the government is not listening to their voice. The government is conspiring to end rights of democratic agitations. The government is showing inhumane behaviour with the people of the State.

The government should give as compensation of Rs. 25 lakh to aggrieved family.”  Speaking on the issue JVM Spokesperson Yogendra Pratap Singh said, “It is very sad that a para teacher died near the Minister’s residence and another female para teacher died in Rajrappa. Somehow directly and indirectly the BJP led government is responsible for it.”

The main opposition leader Hemant Soren said that it is very sad to know that the death of para teacher in front of the Minister’s residence. Soren further added, “The teachers are foundation of education system of Jharkhand. The government’s policy on the issue of para teachers will bring the State into hell.  At one side the Chief Minister spending hard earned money of public on foreign tour and on other side people dying on hunger.

Jharkhand government should take proper decision on para teachers’ issue to solve the problem. The government should give the compensation of Ra.25 lakh to the aggrieved family.” Speaking on the issue the State President RJD Annapurna Devi said, “The government will take how many lives of para teachers’. The government has not taken initiative even after one moths of the strike. One more para teacher was died some days earlier in front of Minister Chandraparakash Chaudhary’s residence.

The government should give as compensation Rs. 25 lakh and job to a family member of aggrieved family.”

Singh further said that the government should give Rs. 20 lakh as compensation to the victim family. JMM MLA Kunal Sarangi said that he will start his agitation in front of the State Assembly Building in support in support of para teachers ‘demand when the Winter Session will be started. The CM has time for the tour of Dubai but he doesn’t have time for the dying para teachers, he added.

The State CPI (M) unit said on the issue that this is result of dictatorship and stubborn behavior towards plight of para teachers. The party further said, “The government should talk to the teachers to sort out the problems and the party further demanded that compensation of Rs.25 lakh and a government job to aggrieved family.”

Meanwhile, Women and Child Development, Social Welfare, Minister, Louis Marandi said on the issue that it is very to know the death of the teacher said and when the CM will return from the tour she will talk to him to take an initiative in this regard.
