The Integrated Test Range (ITR) here has carved a niche for itself in the field of missile programme development and making India self-reliant in the field of Defence. It has also set its own benchmark for the cause of society by extending healthcare facilities to the people of Baleswar and its neighbouring areas by hosting weekly health camps, conducting blood donation camps, plantations and undertaking cleaning under the Swachh Bharat Mission. etc. All these programmes were successfully accomplished under the stewardship of present ITR Director Dr Binay Kumar Das.
This was observed by the speakers in a meeting held on the occasion of the ITR’s 36th Raising Day held in its campus on Sunday. The guests included Director General (Missile and Strategic Systems) MSR Prasad, former ITR Director AK Chakker and the Director, RCI (Research Centre Imarat), Hyderabad.
The speakers, remembering ITR founder-Director Dr APJ Abdul Kalam said the stepping stone laid by him has grown by leaps and bounds over the years.
Remembering the NACORT (National Conference on Range Technology) event in the year 2006 during his tenure as Director, Chakker wished a grand success for the forthcoming ICORT (International Conference on Range Technology) likely to be organised at the ITR next March.
ITR Director Das, appreciating the contribution of its employees and their families said the missions were possible in the range due to self-motivations of the staffs.
Raising Day Committee Chairman MK Srivastava and Vice-Chairman PN Panda, Works Committee Chairman Anup Kumar Sahu and Secretary Sasikanta Rout also spoke on the occasion. A Hindi magazine “AROHI” was unveiled and winners of various competitions were felicitated. A colourful cultural programme was also staged by staffs and their family members.
