Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that the MLAs had raised very pertinent questions and cooperated in running the House on the first day of the assembly session. Talking informally to the media persons here on Tuesday, Rawat said that generally it is seldom that answers are received to the questions asked by the members but this time they were replied to. Considering this, the first day of the session was productive. Regarding the questions related to price rise raised by the opposition, he said that the Parliamentary Affairs Minister provided answers to the various questions whether about fuel or food grains. He averred that prices are under control whereas the rise in price of crude oil at the international level is responsible for the rise in price of petrol and diesel. He opined that the opposition should not have walked out on the question of price rise and should have participated in the debate on the subject instead.
When the Government is listening patiently to their questions, they too should listen to the answers. Walking out means they are not bothered about the answers but interest only in creating noise.
Replying to a question by media persons about the law and order situation, he said that the police acted swiftly and arrested the accused in serious crimes like rape which were reported recently.
