Saturday, 17 November 2018 | GAYATHRI MANI | NEW DELHI

The post-mortem report of the three minor siblings, who had died in their house in Mandawli area of East Delhi in July, has revealed that “the reason for their deaths was emaciation and severe malnutrition”. Three minor sisters aged below 10 years were found dead in their one room house at Mandawli.

“After going through the post mortem report, the viscera analysis report of Forensic Lab, Rohini and the hispathology report, the board members are the of the opinion that the cause of the death was emaciation and severe malnutrition,” read the opinion report.

The girls, aged two, four and eight, were brought to a hospital by their mother and a friend on July 26 around 1 pm and declared dead by the doctors.

Mangal, their father an out of job rickshaw puller had gone missing the day the three minors sisters were found dead. There has been no trace of him. The initial post-mortem report indicated that they died of starvation, prompting the Delhi Government to order a magisterial probe into the matter. After which a board of forensic experts at the GTB hospital, re-examined it to come to a final conclusion.

Their father Mangal who eaked his livelihood by plying a rickshaw, was searching for job as his rickshaw was robbed. To add the miseries of the virtually starving family, the landlord identified as Kushal Mehra forced them to vacate the house. Mangal had reportedly left his house to search a job for himself as his kids were crying out of hunger.

As per the neighbours, two of the sisters, aged two and four, had been unwell for a few days. They suffered bouts of vomiting and loose motion. The eldest sister had gone to school on that day.

“As per the autopsy report the major cause of death is starvation and malnutrition. Further, the police force is working hard to search Mangal Singh, father of the children who is missing since the day the children died,” Delhi Police officials had then said.

Moreover, the father of the children has gone missing since the demise of his three kids. Mangal Singh, their father an out of job rickshaw puller had gone missing the day the three minors sisters were found dead. There has been no trace of him yet, they added.
