The State Government has set aside a sum of Rs 10 crore for the rehabilitation and resettlement of the people residing in villages marked as completely affected by the natural disasters. While replying to a question asked by the independent MLA Pritam Singh Pawar in the State Assembly on Monday, the State Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prakash Pant said that 19 villages in Uttarkashi and nine villages in Tehri districts have been identified as completely affected by natural disasters.
He, further, said that the process to shift the villagers and settle them down in the safer areas has started. The Minister informed that the BJP Government has increased the amount of compensation for rehabilitation of one family from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 4 lakh under the rehabilitation policy 2011.
