State Bank of India (SBI) CGM Praveena Kala on Tuesday declared Bhagabanpur village, Kalinga Nagar as a digital village of the SBI.
Addressing villagers, Kala focused on use and benefits of digital banking like BHIM Aadhaar Pay, Aadhaar linked to the bank’s accounts, biometric authentication. She also highlighted on use of YONO Appof SBI which can cater to various needs in day-to-day life. She distributed 20 smart phones and biometric authenticators to customers to inculcate the habit of digital payments.
Kala shared with women about different banking facilities like education loan to poor and meritorious students in general and girl students in particular. She gave thrust on income generation of the villagers, more particularly of women, through the bank’s financial assistance.
GM (NW-I) SudhirThakore was present. Sukanya Samridhi passbooks were handed over to 50 girls and 25 umbrellas distributed among the pensioners. Kala also donated a water purifier to the Vivekananda Shikshya Kendra, Bhagabanpur.
