Taking up electronic waste (e-waste) disposal issue, Karo Sambhav, an NGO in association with the chief partner sponsors Apple, Dell, HP and lenovo and implementation partner, Change Alliance Private limited India launched the much needed ‘Karo Sambhav School Programme’ in Jharkhand on Saturday to sensitise the young minds on this pivotal issue.
The programme is an initiative to create mass awareness on e-waste in the schools functioning here in the Capital City. Karo Sambhav school programme aims at creating awareness on critical environmental issues like Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment’s (WEEE), engaging students on preventive environmental strategies like circular economy while inspiring them to take actions in their daily lives.
The programme enables development of 21st century skills of collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, communication, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) competencies and real-world problem solving by deploying contemporary pedagogical practices in the classroom. The curriculum of the programme has been designed in a way which enables development of teacher’s competence while empowering them to achieve the above-mentioned goals.
The representatives from more than 30 schools functioning in Ranchi would assemble, share and learn about e-waste management issues, challenges and take pledge to make smarter city with clean environment where the NGO will visualise its inclusiveness and oneness.
