Security enhanced around Morhabadi ground

Thursday, 15 November 2018 | PNS | Ranchi

Even as para-teachers plan to stage a protest in support of their demands during the Statehood Day celebrations at Morhabadi ground on Thursday, the district administration stated that elaborate security arrangement would be made to prevent any disruption during the celebration.

Chief Secretary Sudhir Tripathi, Ranchi deputy commissioner Rai Mahimapat Ray, SSP Anish Gupta and other officials visited the venue and reviewed the arrangement on Wednesday evening.

The administration would deploy around 1000 police personnel along with Rapid Action Force in and around the venue to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of the celebrations.

It may be stated here that para-teachers are agitating over regularization of their services and other demands for the past several days. They plan to stage a protest if the government fails to make any announcement in this regard on the State’s Foundation Day.

“We are keeping a vigil at all entry points of the state capital including roads and railway station to monitor influx of protestors. Closed circuit television cameras have been installed at many places around the venue,” Ranchi SSP Anish Gupta said.

He added the entire venue has been divided into three zones with each area under the charge of senior officer.

The district police would also conduct patrolling around the venue as a preventive measure.

It may be noted here that district administration has taken a serious view of the protest threat and issued a warning that disciplinary action could be taken against protestors if needed.

Officials had said that those employed in government services would be dismissed from job the very next day.The district administration also issued an order regulating the movement of traffic.
