Senior Congress leader and former Chairman of Kisan Ayog, Ghanaram Sahu on Monday formally joined the Bharatiya Janata Party before party’s national president Amit Shah at Patan in Durg district.
Congress state president Bhupesh Baghel is contesting from Patan seat and with joining of Ghanaram, the BJP is expecting to pull off a victory in favour of its official candidate Motilal Sahu.
Notably, Ghanaram quit Congress the other day by sending resignation letter to Baghel. He alleged neglect and humiliation in the party by Baghel and Tamradhwaj Sahu, the Congress Lok Sabha MP from Durg.
Along with Ghanaram, State President of OBC Wing of Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (JCC) Jogi (J), Monu Sahu and an Independent candidate from Patan Harishchandra Sahu also joined BJP on Monday.
