Shivpal shifts to new bungalow

Thursday, 18 October 2018 | PNS | Lucknow

Samajwadi Secular Morcha founder Shivpal Singh Yadav on Wednesday shifted to the 6, Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg bungalow allotted to him by the state government.
The bungalow was earlier allotted to Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati in the capacity of Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and she had vacated it in compliance with a Supreme Court order in June this year.
"On the auspicious occasion of Navratri, pooja and havan was performed as part of 'grih pravesh' and  Shivpalji formally entered the bungalow on Wednesday," a SSM leader said.
Soon after the rituals, Shivpal, without naming Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, said, "I don't want to join the issue with political greenhorns who had no contribution in the formation of Samajwadi Party. I along with Netaji (Mulayam Singh Yadav) built the SP from scratch and catapulted it to the level where it won Assembly poll and formed a government on its own in March  2012."
He also hit back at his nephew Akhilesh for terming him the 'B team' of Bharatiya Janata Party.
"I am the real SP. There are some people with shallow political knowledge of UP but have lofty ambitions. They will be shown their strength in politics during the 2019 Lok Sabha poll," Shivpal said.
The SSM founder said that the bungalow would be used as office of his recently floated outfit. "The SSM is in touch with several parties wedded to secular and socialist ideology for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The established political parties suffer from credibility crisis and that is why I floated the SSM," he said.
Without naming the SP, Shivpal said, "A large number of leaders who have been marginalised in their respective parties have approached the SSM and they will soon join it. My party will consider if a proposal is made to join an anti-BJP grand alliance in UP for 2019 Lok Sabha election.
