Himachal Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Wednesday indicated that some relief was in the offing in the increasing prices of petrol and diesel. He, however, did not eleborate.
As he concluded his whirlwind tour of his home district and laid the foundation stones of many development projects, he called selected reporters and had an informal interaction with them about the performance of his short tenure.
As the air fare to the two airports in the State was quite high, Thakur said the matter of reducing air fares was under the active consideration of the Central Government and the dream of the Prime Minister that even the Chapal wearing common man would enjoy the air travel would also be realized.
He said state government was making a helipad at Danksi dhar atop Mandi town shortly.
The Chief Minister also announced that to begin with a Rs 4.6 crore project for the channelisation of Suketi Khud had been sanctioned to save the fertile Balh Valley from silting.
He claimed that the BJP would win all the Assembly and Parliamentary seats in Himachal Pradesh in 2019 elections. “All top BJP leaders of the state would draw out a strategy in this regard on September 19-20 at Shimla,” he informed.
