Clash at a marriage party led to the murder of a 25-year-old man in South district's Tigri area. The victim identified as Ajay was attending the wedding of a distant relative when he got into a quarrel with two brothers on Monday night.

Although the spat was resolved, it resurfaced when they returned home from the marriage. Following which, the two brothers went to the victim's house and stabbed him.

According to police, the victim and the accused brothers Rahul and Deepak were attending the marriage of a distant relative in Lado Sarai on Monday night.

"They got into a disagreement and started quarreling. However, the matter was resolved after some of their friends and elders interfered," Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Vijay Kumar stated.

"Later the same night, the father of the accused brothers Rahul and Deepak went to discuss the quarrel with Ajay's family, Ajay reportedly abused him to which Rahul and Deepak took an offence to. In rage, the brothers went to Ajay's residence with a knife and cricket wicket," said the DCP.

It was revealed that the victim was taken to the hospital by his family members where he passed away during treatment.

"A case under section 302 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered at Neb Sarai police station," said the DCP, adding that the accused Rahul and Deepak have been arrested in the case and the weapon of offence has been recovered.
