The Sri Sri University held its 5th convocation in its campus here on Friday to award the post graduates, under graduates and doctorates from diverse fields of study of the 7th academic year.
Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal, Higher Education Minister Ananta Das and spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar attended as guests and distributed degree certificates to 317 students, including two doctorates, 137 post graduates and 178 under graduates.
Prof Lal emphasising on the importance of “belongingness” to make this world “worth living”, said that belongingness nurtures love and love is nothing but humility, courtesy, patience, consideration and discipline. He also said that belongingness can be learnt by Mother Nature. Das addressing the students said that students should follow the principles of Gurudev who is a lighthouse of peace and hope for the world.
University Vice-Chancellor Dr Nand Lal presented the annual report and wished good luck to all the graduating students for their life ahead and president Rajita Kulkarni and executive registrar Commodore Ghanashyam Ojha congratulated the graduating students.
On the occasion, the university also launched three new courses, namely, Master in Commerce (M.Com), Bachelor in Science (Physics) and Bachelor in Science (Agribusiness). As many as 15 students also received gold medals for outstanding academic performance under various specialisations of 10 different courses.
