State industrial parks excel in IPRS report

Jharkhand’s industrial areas ranked among the top performing Industrial Parks/Areas in the country under ‘Industrial Park Rating System’ 2017-18 report released by Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) at Pravashi Bhartiya Kendra, New Delhi on Monday.

Among 177 nominations received from 21 participating States, Jharkhand Industrial areas ranked well in all four pillars of Industrial Park Rating System. Tatisilwai, Ranchi ranked Fifth Position in ‘Internal Infrastructure and utilities’, Balidih industrial area, Bokaro ranked second position in ‘External Infrastructure and connectivity’, Kandra Industrial area, Dhanbad ranked First position in ‘Business support services and facilities’ and again ‘Balidih industrial Area, Bokaro’ ranked Second position in ‘Environment and Safety Management’.

Chief Minister Raghubar Das congratulated JIADA team for the performance and instructed them to work harder to perform better and to improve the user experience in industrial area.

The DIPP, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India initiated Industrial Park Rating System (IPRS) for enhancing industrial competitiveness in 2017. State Government and Central Government Ministries nominated 5-10 best industrial Parks/ Estates/ Area/ Clusters for ‘Rating’ across four aspects (pillars) of industrial ecosystem. IPRS framework is developed across four pillars contributing to the development of Industrial ecosystem that includes Internal Infrastructure and Utilities, External infrastructure and Facilities, Business Support services and Environment and safety management.

Various parameters were evaluated for inclusion in these four pillars through consultation with participating SIDC and industries/investors to converge to a 34 parameter assessment methodology.

The DIPP team has evaluated and announced ranking based on evidences submitted by state and physical verification inside the industrial Parks/Estates/Area/Clusters and consultation with industries.

In line with that JIADA, Department of Industries, Govt. of Jharkhand had also nominated eight industrialarea for IPRS rating and submitted evidences based on four pillars. DIPP evaluated the submitted response-documents and physical verification was also done during a visit ofDIPP team to industrial area on 16th and 17th November,2018.

Union Minister for Ministry of Commerce and Industry Suresh Prabhu, released the IPRS rating on Monday at Prawashi Bhartiya Kendra, New Delhi in presence of Ramesh Abhishek Secretary DIPP, Dr. Vandana Kumar Joint Secretary DIPP, Government representatives of 21 State and Industry Associations.
