Traffic police bans entry of heavy vehicles at MG Road

In a bid to ensure smooth vehicular movement and from security viewpoint, entry of heavy vehicles has been prohibited here in State Capital from Sunday at some of the busiest avenues. According to the traffic route plan, no heavy vehicles will be permitted to enter MG Marg from 4 PM onwards till 4 PM.

Following the traffic route chart plan, the new arrangement will be applicable for all heavy vehicles from October 15 (sixth day of Durga Puja) onwards and will continue till ‘Vijay Dashmi’.

As per the traffic route chart, the entry vehicles coming from Doranda, Over-bridge towards Main Road will be allowed to enter till Sainik Market. Similarly, vehicles taking the routes -- Piska More to Ratu Road via Meenakshi Cinema will be stopped near Kishore Ganj Chowk Drop Gate.

All vehicles from Kanke Road heading towards Kutchery will be stopped near CCL Headquarters – Darbanga House. Meanwhile, according to route chart, Lalpur Chowk via Kokar routes will be one-way route. Vehicles have to take Booty More route.  As many as 20 drop gates have been earmarked covering prime routes like Karamtoli Chowk, Lalpur Chowk, Radium Chowk, SSP Residence, etc.

On the other hand, besides traffic management, the district administration is vigilant and is taking all necessary measures to prevent any untoward incident. Nearly 200 additional police constables have been deputed to keep an eye on miscreants. Security around the major puja pandals has been beefed up.

Recently, Ranchi SSP Anish Gupta along with Ranchi DC Rai Mahimapat Ray conducted a meeting with puja samiti members and issued series of instructions. The district administration is taking assistance of Jharkhand Armed Force (JAF) and Rapid Action Force (RAF) in managing the security affairs while all necessary services ranging from ambulances to fire brigades will be stationed at the busiest localities as the plan.
