Taking note of the power tariff hike-related petitions filed by Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd (UJVN), Power Transmission Corporation Of Uttarakhand Limited (PTCUL), State Load Dispatch Centre (SLDC) and Uttarakhand Power Corporation Ltd (UPCL), Uttarakhand Electricity Regulatory Commission had observed certain deficiencies and asked the petitioners to clarify the same. All the utilities have rectified the deficiencies and accordingly, the commission vide its order dated December 17 has admitted all the petitions for further processing, as per a press release issued by Uttarakhand Electricity Regulatory Commission.
It is learnt that in accordance with the provisions of Electricity Act and Tariff Regulations, UJVN, PTCUL, SLDC and UPCL had filed their ARR/Tariff Petitions for FY 2019-20 in which UJVN Ltd has proposed an increase of about 50.66% for FY 2019-20 and PTCUL has proposed an hike of 371% for FY 2019-20. Besides, SLDC has proposed an increase in tariff of 53.38% for FY 2019-20 and UPCL has proposed an average tariff hike of 13.71% in the existing retail tariffs of consumers and if proposal of the above utilities (UJVN Ltd., PTCUL, SLDC) are also accepted, there will be a total tariff hike of 25.85% in the consumer tariff for FY 2019-20.
