Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, Jaswantsinh Bhabhor visited Shantikunj along with his family members and sought blessings from head of All World Gayatri Parivar on Thursday. The minister was acquainted with various developmental programmes undertaken by the organisation for tribal areas in different states of the country.
Recounting a unique Dandak Aranya programme undertaken by Shantikunj in eight districts of Chhattisgarh head of AWGP, Pandya said that under this scheme, skill development and cottage industry programmes are run wherein people are given free training to start their own cottage industry. He also said that the projects which Pandit Sri Ram Acharya conceptualised in 1950s are also being mobilised by the organisation.He further said that he was in Bastar district of Chhattisgarh last week and had seen himself the plight of the tribal people.
The minister said that the Nirmal Ganga Abhiyan, women awakening programme and Kanya Kaushal Vikas Yojana projects run by Shantikunj had benefitted lakhs of people in the country. Earlier he participated in Gayatri Mahayagya in the morning and prayed for the success of his ministry.
