Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath added a feather to his cap with Uttar Pradesh winning 12 national awards, five for successful implementation of Pradhan Mantri Rural Housing Scheme. The awards were given away at a function held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on Tuesday. Rural Development Minister Mahendra Singh received the awards on behalf of the UP government.

Singh said that UP’s achievement in the last one-and-a-half year was the translation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream and hard work of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. “The priority of this government has been village and farmers which is reflected in the functioning of this BJP government,” the minister said.

Besides five awards in PM Gramin Awas Yojana, UP also won honours in the implementation of MNREGA, Gram Swaraj Yojana, extending benefits to beneficiaries through DBT and quality training in HRD. Six districts were selected for Gram Swaraj Yojana from all over India, of which two –Lucknow and Sitapur – are from Uttar Pradesh.
