People look up to us in sympathy, but we want them to look up to us with pride, says secretary of Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) and cricket player Sonu Golkar.

For the first time, the city cricket lovers will witness an International tournament for the blind.

The international tournament will be played in Bhopal on October 17 that will be a great experience for the game lovers.

The tournament is organised by Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI). The back-to-back series of cricket will be held in different cities of the country.

Teams from Sri Lanka and England are coming down to participate in the matches.

In the tournament, two players from Madhya Pradesh will be the part of team India.

Sonu Golkar from Bhopal and Om Prakash Pal from Indore will be the part of team India.

It is to be noted that the tournament on Bhopal will be played at BHEL Sports Complex on October 17.

While informing about the tournament and matches to be played in Bhopal, Vice President of CABI Neerav Pradhan told the media persons on Monday that the triangular and bilateral matches will be layed under the tournament.

“In Bhopal a T-20 match between India and Sri Lanka will be played.”

 “After triangular cricket series, India will play bilateral series with Sri Lanka where 5 T-20 and 3 IDI matches will be played in different cities of the country,” he added.

Further, matches will be played in Karnataka. Pradhan further said,

“This initiative will give a new identity to Bhopal and will also give an inspiring opportunity to our people.”
