Sitting MLA Shankar Dhruva representing Kanker has been denied ticket this time by Congress party and in his place former bureaucrat Sishupal Sori has been given the party ticket.
“Why my ticket was denied is beyond my understanding”, Dhruva said.
When the party observers arrived here and whatever reports were prepared, my name was on top. Sishupal Sori’s name figured last in observers list, he said.
“I was totally fit for the candidature as per the parameters fixed by Congress President Rahul Gandhi”, Dhruva said.
Nor do I have any report of allegations or cases against me,” he said.
“I am holding meetings with my workers and would plan a new strategy based on their inputs,” Dhruva said.
The future course will also be decided after holding discussions with them. Whatever the workers will say, will do accordingly as they want me to be in poll fray,” he said.
On the question of switching alliance to another party, he said that anything can happen but before taking any steps, I would naturally consider the sentiments of workers, Dhruva said.
