Yogi to unveil statue of Charan Singh in Jatland

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is visiting Bhaghpat district the hub of Jat politics to unveil  the statue of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh in Patla  area on Sunday.

Patla is considered the stronghold of ‘Jatland’, in Baghpat Parliamentary constituency. Yogi’s visit is being seen as a move by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to woo “jat votes” ahead of parliamentary elections due next year.

The Chief Minister will also inaugurate a total of 82 other works including

interlocking tiling work, drainage system and strengthening of service lanes in the Modi Nagar city area in Ghaziabad district.

Ranjana Sharma, District Information Officer (DIO), Ghaziabad said that the CM is also scheduled to launch many welfare schemes for Ghaziabad including a degree college in Sara village in Modi Nagar Tehsil on December 23.

“A shelter home will be announced in Jagatpuri of Modi Nagar. A solar energy power plant will be installed in the tehsil complex on the

same day.  The National Highway 58 will be strengthened between Modi Nagar and Murad Nagar for which a grant has already been sanctioned,” said Sharma adding that three cow shelters in village

Talheta, Saidpur, Hussainpur Dilna and Patti village will be inaugurated on this occasion,” said Sharma. 

The total budget of Rs 992.20 lakh will be spent on the total works said Anuj Kaushik the executive officer of Modi Nagar Nagar Palika.

“A separate budget of Rs 472 lakh has been sanctioned to strengthened rural road network under Prime Minister rural roads scheme on CM’s visit,” said Kaushik.

Patla, a strong hold of Jatland, in Baghpat Parliamentary constituency where a statue of Chaudhary Charan was installed about a decade ago in the premised of Chaudhary Charan Singh Industrial Training Institute ( ITI) by the then chairman Yogendra Yogi of Patla town area committee and chairman of ITI.

Minister of State Dr Satyapal Singh and the local member parliament took initiative and after taking local leader into confidence invited CM Yogi Aditya Nath to unveil the statue which has been delayed over a decade.
