Youth stabbed for refusing to share crackers

A youth sustained critical injuries after another one attacked him with a sharp weapon for not sharing firecrackers at Mahisakhal under the Badagada police station here on Wednesday night.

The injured man, identified as Ashok Behura, received serious injuries on his neck, left shoulder and hand and was admitted to the Capital Hospital.

Meanwhile, the accused Arjun Behera was detained by the Badagada police and is being interrogated, reports said.

Ashok was bursting crackers when Arjun came and asked him for some firecrackers. As Ashok refused to the crackers, Arjun took out a knife from his pocket and stabbed the former repeatedly,” said locals, who witnessed the incident.
