Raja Bhaiya to announce his party on Nov 30

Sunday, 21 October 2018 | PNS | Lucknow

Independent MLA from Kunda, Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya is likely to launch his new political party on November 30.

The same day, his supporters will fete him for completing 25 years in politics.

The party is proposed to be named as Jansatta Dal and Raja Bhaiya could contest the Lok Sabha poll on its ticket.

An announcement to this effect was made by former MP of Samajwadi Party, Shailendra Kumar, in Lucknow on Saturday. Kumar is the convenor of the organising committee set up for the purpose.

“We have completed the process to register a new political party led by Raja Bhaiya. We have applied to the Election Commission of India and have given three names for the new outfit, one of it being Jansatta Party. We hope to get ECI approval soon,” he said.

Kumar said a public rally would be held at Janeshwar Mishra Park here on November 30 in which Raja Bhaiya would be feted along with others and he was likely to announce his new outfit. “Raja Bhaiya is the only Independent MLA to have completed 25 years in the Assembly of the UP Legislature by winning elections for six consecutive times from Kunda constituency in Pratapgarh,” he said.

A close associate of Raja Bhaiya and independent MLA, Vinod Kumar Saroj, said that youths, unemployed, farmers and sarva samaj had huge expectations from the leader.

“We undertook a survey on social media, asking people what Raja Bhaiya should do. Surprisingly, 80 per cent of the respondents suggested that he should float a new outfit and this hastened the decision,” he claimed.

The Independent MLA from Kunda had also served as Minister in the Bharatiya Janata Party Governments headed by Kalyan Singh, Ram Prakash Gupta and Rajnath Singh and later in the Samajwadi Party Governments headed by Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav.

Raja Bhaiya has good influence among Thakur politicians and voters in the state and is close to the BJP brass. He had voted for BJP candidates in the Rajya Sabha elections in UP in March this year.
