Japanes movie for Aamir Khan?

The acting acumen of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, who has found a fan following in China, has caught the eye of Japanese filmmaker Norihiro Koizumi who hopes to direct the actor someday. Known for the successful Japanese Chihayafuru trilogy, Koizumi came to India last month for a Japanese Film Festival organised by PVR Cinemas by The Japan Foundation.

It was his first time in India. Not only did he have a great time looking at  happy faces and tasting the variety of food, but he also got a new perspective about Indian cinema. “About Indian cinema, I had this image that it’s all about musicals. But when I came to India and saw a couple of films, I felt there were a lot films which did not have many musical scenes. It kind of changed my view of Indian cinema. There’s a variety of films. Not just musicals, not just dancing. Some movies have profound themes. I thought I should watch a little bit more,” Koizumi said who has seen movies like 3 Idiots and Dangal before he came to India.

“Both of them had the same actor... Aamir Khan. He is a great actor,” said Koizumi, who doesn't rule out a chance of an Indian collaboration. “Yes, it could happen with Aamir Khan. I think he could be in Japanese cinema too. Maybe I could direct Indian cinema if I have a chance... I don't know about the musical scenes though,” he quipped.

Fardeen: benefit of doubt should go to women

Fardeen Khan has come forward to support the #MeToo campaign by saying that women who are accusing men of sexual harassment deserve the benefit of doubt. However he also said that proper investigation needs to be done as it can destroy the career and life of an individual.

The actor was interacting with the media when he attended his cousin sister, designer Farah Khan’s new collection launch at her designer store in Mumbai.

Khan has worked with Sajid Khan in his directorial debut Heyy Babyy and now the filmmaker has been accused of sexual harassment by actress Rachel White, Saloni Chopra and journalist Karishma Upadhyay.

Reacting to the #MeToo movement in India, Fardeen said: “This is a worldwide phenomenon that has been going on. Women in this situation are extremely vulnerable. I do believe that they deserve the benefit of doubt, at the same time I don’t believe that making allegations against someone automatically proves that he is guilty so there has to be process.

“It's very complicated and serious issue and any allegations of this nature need to be taken very seriously. Also, there has to be a process where both parties to be heard without preconceived notions because things like this can destroy lives and careers and if there is any truth to it then concerned individual should get justice.”

Got for red this festival

Fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee says red is one of the best suited and versatile colours for all Indian women. “There is a shade of red for every Indian woman that goes from very bright red to very dark red depending on the complexion of the person. Indian complexion also has certain diversity. They can try a few shades of red on them standing in front of the mirror and depending on the yellow quotient of her skin, she can find the best suit for herself,” Sabyasachi said.

Meanwhile, the ace designer's brand — House of Sabyasachi — collaborated with the cosmetic brand L'Oreal Paris India to create a festive special make-up line that offers 10 different shades of lipsticks along with one mascara and eyeliner.

Talking about the correlation between Indian festivals and colours, Sabyasachi said: “When it comes to traditional Indian clothing, Indian lovers wear a lot of traditional colours in combination. And those colours depict different festivals. Like during Durga Puja visarjan, women wear red and white, during Navratri, people wear nine colours in nine days. We wear a specific colour for a special festival and that is how colours and festivity are synonyms to each other.”
