M.J. Akbar resigns from government

Minister of State for External Affairs M.J. Akbar resigned from the government on Wednesday following allegations of sexual harassment levelled against him by several women journalists.

The resignation came a day before a Delhi court is to take up the defamation case filed by Akbar against one of the journalists.
