Lara refuses work offer from Mukesh

Actress Lara Dutta Bhupathi has turned down a work offer from the casting company of Mukesh Chhabra, one of the accused of sexual harassment amid the #MeToo wave. Lara's husband Mahesh Bhupathi made the revelation in an open letter on Twitter, urging people to “stop engaging” with those who are sexual offenders. He wrote: “Two days ago my wife got an offer through Mukesh Chabbra's company. She wanted my feedback. I asked if she wanted to empower his company even after hearing the news. Her reaction was that the digital platform hadn't really pulled back business from him either. Later, she told them that she wouldn't accept work through this company specifically. I think she did the right thing.”

‘Nothing has changed over the years. I still work with my heart. Some people take me in the films thinking it will change their life or film. Sometimes I look at the banner, or the script or at the director. But emotions is something I am associated with.’

—Jackie Shroff

Actress Priyanka Chopra is excited about her friend Meghan Markle’s pregnancy, and hopes that the Duchess of Sussex's new phase is “amazing.”

“I would, as a friend, just say that I'm really excited for her,” said Chopra. “I think this is a new phase in every woman's life, and I hope hers is as amazing as she wants it to be,” added the Quantico actress who had also attended Markle and Prince Harry's royal wedding in May. She and Markle have been close for several years now.

Avril doesn’t regret marriages

Singer Avril Lavigne said she does not regret marrying musicians Chad Kroeger and Deryck Whibley, who are now her former husbands. Lavigne said, “I love love. The way I looked at it is I married my long-terms.” Recalling her initial reaction to the collaboration suggestion with Kroeger, she said, “He's had a ton of hit songs. He plays guitar. This could be great. A month later, I had a 14-carat ring on my finger.”

The 43-year-old rocker quickly caught her attention when he arrived for their first studio session with a $3,000 bottle of Screaming Eagle wine. She said: “(I thought) I'm in love.” She said around 75 per cent of her inkings were done in tandem with other people, including two she has with Whibley, a musical note and a number 30 to mark the Sum-41 rocker's 30th birthday, which fell after they had split.
