Death toll rises in Boko Haram base

Kano (Nigeria): The number of soldiers killed in a Boko Haram attack on a military base in northeast Nigeria’s Yobe state has risen to eight, security sources said on Tuesday. Gunmen from Boko Haram faction the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) attacked the base on Saturday.

3 killed in Malaysia shopping mall blast

Kuala Lumpur: Three people were killed and 24 injured on Tuesday when a powerful explosion rocked a shopping mall in the Malaysian state of Sarawak, but a fire official said it was not caused by a bomb. The official Bernama news agency said the blast could have been caused by a leaking gas tank.
