new programme for professionals

The Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIM Calcutta) has announced an advanced programme in FinTech and Financial Blockchain for the benefit of management and finance professionals.

The programme will help participants appreciate the explosive growth of FinTech and its increasingly disruptive impact on the banking and financial ecosystem. In addition, it will prepare them to exploit the immense potential of FinTech to design and drive new product strategies for their organisations. The programme will be offered in association with TalentSprint starting from May 2019.

The programme will be delivered in a hybrid executive format with onsite visits to the IIM Calcutta campus and live online sessions via the TalentSprint digital platform.

Investment Competition Region 2

Amity International School, Noida has been named as the winner of the NSE KWHS Investment Competition Region 2 Finale held at NSE Headquarters in Mumbai.

The winners received trophies, as well as financial prizes worth $1,000 from Brickwork Ratings, a competition sponsor.

The KWHS global investment competition has conducted regional finals in India for three years, with participation by high schools around the country. For the 2018-2019, 1158 teams registered from India. As a result of the new KWHS-NSE partnership, the number of region 2 teams submitting final reports for evaluation at the end of the competition increased to 252.

Japanese cultural workshop

Home language learning is an integral part of the mainstream education that Lancers International School offers to every member of our diverse community. Keeping this in mind, in a very interactive event at was organised where parents from the Japanese expat community came together to give a session on basic cultural aspects of Japan like their geography, media, dressing, calligraphy and customs.

The students at the programme actively participated during the session.

We are willing to integrate more activities which cross the cultural, regional, racial and linguistic barriers and bring everyone together. Underlining its focus on fostering entrepreneurial fervour among students, Management Development Institute Gurugram has helped connect over 20 early-stage start-ups and entrepreneurs with more than 10 investors. As a part of a mentorship series — MDI Megaminds —was launched by MDI Gurgaon alumni.

Dr Nakul Gupta, coordinator, Centre for Entrepreneurship, MDI said: “The start-up market is teeming with ideas, energy, and enthusiasm. For every unicorn that emerges, there are thousands of start-ups that start and end in oblivion, some of them with truly innovative ideas. But what they don’t get is timely or adequate guidance, mentorship, and funding. This series aims to provide worthy early-stage start-ups the chance to connect with mentors to help them get their ideas off the ground.”

partnership in design

An Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the School of Design at the University of Limerick, Ireland and the National Institute of Design (NID), India, in order to develop current research and teaching activities and to facilitate the exchange and mobility of staff members, researchers and students.

The agreement aim’s to provide a further study pathway for UG design students to further their studies while learning from each other’s sociocultural contexts in India and in Ireland. It also aims over time to build a shared design research capacity through joint supervision of research, exchange of faculty and researchers.
