The Special Olympics Bharat, in partnership with Amity University, Noida, hosted a two-day International Conference on September 12 and 13, 2019 at Amity University, Noida campus to share and exchange knowledge relating to special olympics young athletes and early childhood development programme. The event brought together institutions, researchers, policy makers, practitioners and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations and trends, encounters and solutions adopted in the fields of early childhood education.
The initiative that is supported by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports witnessed informative talks by experts and representatives of Special Olympics International, Special Olympics Asia Pacific, UNICEF, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Special Olympics Bharat, University of Melbourne and Amity University.
The first day focused on understanding the impact of social-emotional learning and development through physical education among others. On the second day, participants received crucial information on the role that families, schools and communities play in healthy childhood development.
