The season of mangoes has arrived. It’s time to head to the national Capital’s Handloom Haat at Janpath where the 7th Edition of 15-day “Bengal Mango Mela” is being held till this June end.
A diverse range of delicious mangoes from Malda, Murshidabad and Bankura districts of the State, such as Himsagar, Lakshman Bhog, Langda, Amrapali, Mallika as well as the lesser-known types such as Ashuadgi, Molamjam, Michhrikand and Altapeti are available to savour.
Also, select handloom and handicrafts products from Bengal are also on sale at the venue, apart from Bengali sweets and savoury fish delicacies, said an official from the Office of the Resident Commissioner, West Bengal which is coordinating the event.
Stalls have been put up in collaboration with the departments of food processing industries & horticulture, micro, small and medium enterprises, agri-marketing, tourism and information & cultural affairs of West Bengal government, as well as West Bengal state fisheries development corporation, and the offices of the respective district magistrates, said the official.
